Alan is a late comer to the art of karate. He began his training in 2009 after being a spectator of his son Josh. When the club ran a parents open evening class to let the mums and dads experience the same challenge as their children Alan was hooked. This gives him a useful perspective to those who begin their training later in life. Helping to prove that if you are willing to work hard it’s never too late!
Training under Sensei Basil Leeshue 6th Dan and 2nd Dan Sensei Amie Dyde. Alan achieved 1st Dan in 2016.
Alan is currently instructor to the beginner’s class and assists in instruction of the seniors. In addition, he is the current club secretary.
Josh began his martial arts journey at the tender age of 5. His first year’s training was spent at a mixed martial centre in Morley.
Since the age of 6 Josh has trained with LSEK. Sensei Leeshue and Sensei Amie Dyde have taken Josh from an exuberant 6 year old to a responsible 1st Dan who at 13 years old is now helping to train our instructors of the future.
Josh recently competed for the first time in the FEKO National Open, gaining a very creditable bronze medal.
